Why you are seeking this position?

I believe AHRMM is an extremely valuable organization and makes a difference in the healthcare delivery in our country.

I believe I can make a positive contribution, providing strategic balance in the board room. Having had three years of board experience, I am really starting to gain a much better understanding of AHRMM and the role it plays in the healthcare supply chain.

I would like to participate at the Executive Board level for three more years to be part of the continued development of AHRMM.

How can you advance AHRMM's mission to advance healthcare through supply chain excellence?

By continuing to advocate for the profession, by continually challenging the status quo, and by seeking to find the best and brightest supply chain minds to assist in advancing the mission.

Identify 3 - 5 strategic priorities you think AHRMM should undertake and your reasons for identifying them as important.

1. Global growth for the association: I think that in order to be the pre-eminent association for healthcare supply chain, we need to expand or boundaries in a focused effort

2. Greater educational emphasis: A critical value provided to our members, we must continue to raise the bar and improve the educational offerings to our members

3. Bringing AHVAP into AHRMM in some manner. I think the time is right to integrate these organizations. There is synergy to be leveraged by combining forces. As we continually work to get clinicians more educated in supply chain roles, we need to step up and make it happen.

Identify your personal and professional qualities that will be valuable in the position for which you are being considered.

I am reserved in thought and the spoken word, and strive to understand all points of view before rendering judgement. I am able to jump in front of a cause if that is my role.

We have many folks really good at working in the trenches and getting the day to day stuff done. The strategic planning is not easy and strategic thinking is what I am working to continually improve upon. I continually draw upon the expertise of my peers and others in healthcare to improve the supply chain.

How will you use these qualities to benefit AHRMM, the Board, and the members?

As an advocate for AHRMM, a leader for the Board, and a resource for the members, I will continue the charge set forth by all those who have led us to this point.

What do you expect to be your single, greatest contribution to AHRMM as a Board member?

Being out in front of taking AHRMM to a new level, and greater Global recognition.

Describe one transformational experience in your professional life you have been involved with and what you have learned from this experience.

Being involved in strategic planning as well as succession planning, have both had  significant bearings on my perspectives. I have learned that failure to keep both on the radar at all times can lead to great challenges for an organization in the future. The day to day things should be under control by the staff. It’s keeping the vision intact and continuously striving to get there that keeps organizations strong.
