Why you are seeking this position?

AHRMM has been instrumental to my career and I wish to give back to the organization and the industry as well.  I would not be where I am today without AHRMM and I am committed to helping the organization continue to grow and improve by increasing awareness and, consequently,  membership.  I was honored to be named the 2010 Chair of the Education Committee and to have served on the Education Task Force in 2009.  I am happy to continue to serve the Education Committee as past-chair.

How can you advance AHRMM's mission to advance healthcare through supply chain excellence?

The Power of Membership lies in a vital, growing organization that responds to the needs of its membership.  We must constantly look for ways to raise our visibility and value.  Our educational offerings must always include all levels of need, whether remedial or advanced.

Identify 3 - 5 strategic priorities you think AHRMM should undertake and your reasons for identifying them as important.

1. Collaboration – this is the true power of membership.  A vast network of peers to collaborate with increases the strength of all.  Professional development is the key to raising Supply Chain to the C-Suite.

2. Education – AHRMM already has an incredible commitment to the education of its members and I feel that increasing educational offerings is vital for all.

3. Membership – as AHRMM grows its member base, it will naturally be positioned to increase collaboration, education and networking.

Identify your personal and professional qualities that will be valuable in the position for which you are being considered.

I consider myself to have excellent interpersonal skills: listening, collaborating, consensus building.

I am dedicated and loyal.  I have excellent analytical and intuitive business skills.  I am committed to giving back to the organization that has provided me with so much.

How will you use these qualities to benefit AHRMM, the Board, and the members?

My goal would be to increase awareness of all that AHRMM membership has to offer.  By doing this, it will naturally increase our membership and strength.

What do you expect to be your single, greatest contribution to AHRMM as a Board member?

My continued dedication and enthusiasm to support and advance the Vision, Mission, Values and Strategic Goals of AHRMM.

Describe one transformational experience in your professional life you have been involved with and what you have learned from this experience.

My 13-year position at a local hospital was eliminated due to a reduction in force.  This was a watershed moment for me.  At the urging of a good friend and professional peer, I joined the national AHRMM as there no longer was a local chapter in Western PA.  Through this membership, I attained the CMRP and vastly increased my skill set and marketability.  As I consultant, I must build consensus with a variety of stakeholders.  I feel AHRMM played a critical role in the development of my collaborative and communicative skills.  I am convinced I would not have achieved a similar level of success on my own.  I am committed to helping AHRMM continually grow and improve.
