Educational Tracks

AHRMM11 conference tracks have been developed to help our participants focus on sessions that are of most interest to them. Choose from eight tracks designed for supply chain and materials managers’ professional development and training. With our customizable schedule, you’ll be able to create your own agenda to develop new skills, enhance your existing knowledge, and get a competitive edge in the ever-changing healthcare marketplace.

Learning Lab sessions are presented at BASIC [B], INTERMEDIATE [I], or ADVANCED [A] levels.

 

Clinical Resource Management (CRM)

Discover the clinical, financial, and materials tactics required to improve patient care and safety and enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness while mitigating escalating healthcare cost. Learn practical tools to excel in day-to-day supply cost management and physician preference ordering. This track covers key areas of clinical resource management as it relates to the healthcare supply chain.

Finance

Learn the results-proven finance and budgeting tactics to better understand your organization’s operations. In most facilities, the board of trustees makes a final decision regarding the budget spent. This track focuses on how the supply chain can affect and impact the operating budget as well as daily spending decisions.

Logistics

Find out the importance of efficient inventory control and distribution systems for the supply chain management. In a current demanding market, programs that include appropriate inventory reduction, supply utilization review, customer service plan, evaluation, and reduction in waste, as well as constant information systems improvements will have a critical impact on your organization’s overall success.

Professional Development

Realize your full potential with new skills specific to supply chain management and boost your career with professional development training. This track covers public speaking and presentation skills, leadership, time and stress management, and much more.

Purchasing

Identify the advantages of timely and cost-effective acquisition process of goods, equipment, and services essential for the operation of healthcare facilities. This track covers methods and core principles of requisition, sourcing, negotiation, ordering, and more.

Research

Examine recent studies in various disciplines of the healthcare supply chain selected and brought to you by members of the Academic Council for Healthcare Supply Chain Research, a consortium of academics working together to identify the most pressing healthcare supply chain issues, consider the theoretical and methodological perspectives most likely to provide value, and find best ways to connect research and practice. The Academic Council evolved from a Research Symposium hosted by AHRMM in the fall of 2009.

Strategic Planning

Discover the careful planning that goes into making a successful organization. Learn fundamentals of customer service, strategic planning, and quality management. It is critical for the material departments to understand customers’ needs in order to provide quality service and valuable support.

Technology Solutions

Keep up with the latest advancements in healthcare technology and stay at the top of the field. In today’s market, information technology (IT) is critical to every organization’s success. It has made purchasing, automation, improving efficiencies, and e-Commerce much easier and more important than ever before. This track focuses on how the field can and will benefit from the IT evolution.
