Biographies:

Heather Nachtmann
Heather Nachtmann received her Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh in 2000.  She is currently an Associate Professor at the University of Arkansas and serves as the director of the Mack Blackwell Rural Transportation Center.  Her research includes economic and efficiency analyses of transportation and healthcare systems.  She has published more than 45 scholarly publications and has been awarded over one million dollars in research grants as principal investigator.  Dr. Nachtmann teaches in the areas of operations research, engineering economy, and cost analysis.  She is a member of the Institute of Industrial Engineers and the Association for Healthcare Resource & Materials Management.

Edward A. Pohl
Edward A. Pohl is an Associate Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering at the University of Arkansas and current holder of the John L. Imhoff Chair in Industrial Engineering. Ed currently serves as the Director of the Operations Management Program.  Ed retired from United States Air Force in the grade of Lieutenant Colonel and served in a variety of engineering, analysis and academic positions during his career.  Ed received his Ph.D. in systems and industrial engineering from the University of Arizona.  His current research interests are in supply chain and risk analysis, decision making, engineering optimization, quality and reliability.
