AHRMM's 39th Annual Conference & Exhibition Set in Denver, Colorado

CHICAGO, June 15, 2001 - The Association for Healthcare Resource & Materials Management (AHRMM) is holding its 39th Annual Conference & Exhibition July 29 - August 1, 2001, in Denver, Colorado. The theme for the conference, "Setting the Standard…Reaching New Heights," is evident throughout the planned education sessions, new educational offerings, the vendor trade show, and the numerous networking events.

AHRMM's Annual Conference focuses on how current issues in the field affect healthcare delivery and integration of services as resource and materials management professionals take on leadership roles within their organizations. The intensive educational sessions cover purchasing, distribution, support services, finance, information systems, and strategic planning. Also offered are pre-conference workshops on presentation skills, materials management 101, and a Certified Materials & Resource Professional (CMRP) Program overview session.

Other educational highlights include three general sessions featuring cutting-edge concepts. "Supply Acquisition: A New Business Model for Managing Material Resources" will feature a panel presenting this new model and a reaction panel of AHRMM members. "Navigating Your Own Course of Change" will address specific strategies for surviving and thriving in the often volatile field of healthcare resource and materials management. Also featured will be an interactive Internet-commerce panel with five Internet-commerce companies. It includes a moderated audience participation opinion survey with immediate results addressing the question "How will Internet-Commerce affect the resource and materials management profession?"

AHRMM also is proud to announce that continuing education activities on the exhibit floor, live workshops and self-study modules, are available through our exhibiting industry partners. All sessions will provide continuing education necessary to support the CMRP Program.

Over 150 vendors are exhibiting at this year's trade show, providing an open environment for attendees to meet with vendors, review a variety of products and services, and make valuable new contacts. Several networking social events are planned, including a networking reception and a Rocky Mountain High Opening Party. Additional highlights of the conference include the Recognition Breakfast, which recognizes the efforts and accomplishments of several outstanding individuals in the association.
