AHRMM Donates Almost $25,000 to Project Perfect World Foundation

CHICAGO, November 5, 2002 - The Association for Healthcare Resource & Materials Management (AHRMM) announced a donation of almost $25,000 to Project Perfect World Foundation (PPW).

This year’s donation represents the proceeds of the Sixth Annual Charity Golf Tournament, held August 4, 2002 at the Quarry Golf Course in San Antonio, Texas in conjunction with AHRMM’s 2002 Annual Conference & Exhibition. For the last several years, AHRMM has been able to donate similiar amounts to support Project Perfect World’s efforts.

"AHRMM is proud to support Project Perfect World and the important work it does,” said Al Cook, AHRMM president. "While we struggle with the issues surrounding our own healthcare systems, the people helped by PPW would have no healthcare at all, if not for our contributions."

Project Perfect World Foundation provides humanitarian medical care for hundreds of children in third world countries. Since its beginning in 1995, Project Perfect World has sent medical teams to impoverished areas annually to perform maxillofacial and dental surgery on children. This year two orthopedic teams were sent to Guayaquil, Ecuador to perform surgeries on children.

The Seventh Annual Charity Golf Tournament is scheduled for August 17, 2003 at the Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego, California. For more information on the Annual Golf Tournament, please visit www.ahrmm.org.
