AHRMM Rolls Out First Online Course

Chicago, October 10, 2003:  The Association for Healthcare Resource & Materials Management (AHRMM) has launched its first online course titled, Purchasing and Product Value Analysis.

The basic course provides a solid overview of medical/surgical supply purchasing and product value analysis and is designed for healthcare materials managers new to the field, purchasing agents, materials management professionals reviewing for the CMRP examination, and seasoned materials managers looking for a refresher course.

“AHRMM’s Purchasing and Product Value Analysis course offers an affordable, practical continuing-education opportunity for the healthcare resource and materials management professional, who finds that the expense of travel and time away from family and work make taking a classroom course a tough proposition,” said Kathryn Ryan, AHRMM associate director. “Students who take this course now have the opportunity to expand their knowledge and expertise and provide further evidence of their competency in the field.”

Upon completion, students will be able to define different types of requisitions, define different types of purchase orders, explain freight terms and titles to goods, explain payment terms and conditions, state the legalities and ethics of purchasing, explain product liability and warranty, define the Uniform Commercial Code, and describe Resource Manager “tools” for maintaining vendor relationships and controlling costs.
