AHRMM 42nd Annual Conference & Exhibition to be Held in Nashville

CHICAGO, July 29, 2004 -  The Association for Healthcare Resource & Materials Management (AHRMM) will begin their 42nd Annual Conference & Exhibition this weekend, August 1 - 4, 2004, in Nashville,Tenn. The theme for this year’s conference "Setting the Standard" is evident throughout the planned educational sessions, new educational offerings, the vendor trade show, and the numerous networking events.

AHRMM's Annual Conference focuses on how current issues in the field of resource and materials management affect healthcare delivery and integration of services.. Intensive educational sessions will cover issues related to distribution, finance, information systems, purchasing, strategic planning, support services and professional development. Also offered are pre-conference materials management workshops and a Certified Materials & Resource Professional (CMRP) Program overview session.

New this year, AHRMM is excited to offer nursing credits and has been approved by the Illinois Nurses Association to distribute up to 20.7 nursing contact hoursbased on number of courses attended.

Other highlights include the opening keynote address “A Humorous Look at Personal and Professional Success (How to be a Liver of Life and Not A Gall Bladder)” ;two general sessions featuring cutting-edge concepts “Materials Management Adopts Clinical Value Analysis: A Value Experience” and “Medical Logistics During Operation Iraqi Freedom”; and the closing keynote address “Expanding the Power of Your Mind”.

Over 200 vendors are expected, providing an open environment for attendees to meet with vendors, review a variety of products and services and make valuable new contacts. Additional items of note are the welcome reception, networking reception and the recognition breakfast which recognizes the efforts and accomplishments of several outstanding individuals in the association.
