CHICAGO, September 7, 2007 – The Association for Healthcare Resource & Materials Management’s (AHRMM) Board of Directors has approved the Association’s new strategic plan, a high-level framework focusing on three key areas: development, voice and impact.

Under this plan from 2008 through 2010, AHRMM will focus its efforts on developing professionals in the healthcare supply chain field to better excel in the ever-changing healthcare industry. It will also continue to advance the profession through advocacy and building new collaborative relationships.

“AHRMM’s new Mission is ‘To advance healthcare through supply chain excellence,’ and its new Vision is ‘Healthcare supply chain excellence though education, knowledge, and advocacy,’” said AHRMM President Jean Sargent. “The board has developed a dynamic strategic plan based on the Association’s foundational elements: education, knowledge, advocacy, membership and collaborative relationships. By keeping our efforts focused on these core elements, AHRMM will lead supply chain research, deliver new solutions and advance the state-of-the-art in healthcare materials management.”

By providing essential and executive level programs, publications, products, and knowledge that will lead technical and leadership competencies of healthcare supply chain professionals, AHRMM will identify and advocate issues that critically impact the field of healthcare supply chain management and work collaboratively with organizations who share the same goals.

”AHRMM’s success over the next two years will depend on its ability to deliver valuable resources and tools to the field that are indispensable,” said AHRMM Executive Director Debbie Sprindzunas. “Through effective governance and sound strategic planning, AHRMM will provide more value to its membership which will undoubtedly lead to a strong financial performance.”
