“Best of AHRMM” Regional Seminar Debuts
in Chicago

CHICAGO -- September 12, 2007 – The Association for Healthcare Resource & Materials Management (AHRMM)is launching its “Best of AHRMM” regional seminar program on November 2, 2007 at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare in Chicago.

Taking popular and easily transferable educational sessions from the AHRMM Annual Conference & Exhibition to different regions throughout the United States, the one-day program consists of five 75-minute educational sessions and dedicated networking time with other healthcare supply chain professionals in a localized setting.

“AHRMM recognizes that not all materials managers who would like to attend AHRMM’s Annual Conference & Exhibition can travel to the destination, so we are traveling to a location near them,” said AHRMM President Jean Sargent. “The ‘Best of AHRMM’ provides an alternative to the three-day conference by offering some of the best of that meeting closer to home. It’s a finely-tuned AHRMM road show.”

AHRMM Executive Director Debbie Sprindzunas agrees. “AHRMM realizes that many organizations may have budget and time constraints that hinder staff members from attending the conference. The ‘Best of AHRMM’ allows individuals who missed the annual event the unique opportunity to learn from some of the most highly anticipated and well-attended educational sessions as well as make new connections in their areas.”  

Presentations scheduled for the Chicago seminar cover three key healthcare supply chain areas − distribution, strategic planning, and purchasing − and include: Maximizing Cost Savings through Effective Process, System, and Contract Management, Automating the Healthcare Supply Chain: Bringing the Grocery Store Model to Healthcare, Achieving Results through a Multiple Hospital Material Management Role, Moving from Warehouse to Distribution Center Cross Docking, and Adopting a Cost Benefit Methodology in Supply Chain Decision Activities.

Registration fees are $299 for AHRMM members and $399 for non-members and include five educational sessions, dedicated face-to-face networking time, 0.625 continuing education units (CEUs) or 6.25 Contact Hours, presentation handouts, and a continental breakfast, lunch, and two refreshment breaks.
