Overview: It is the belief of the MIT Center for Transportation & Logistics research consortium called the MIT Efficient Healthcare Delivery (MEHD) Group that a very different future is emerging, and the drivers of that future are already visible.  As the very nature of “healthcare landscape” changes, the opportunities will exist for supply chain management professionals throughout the value chain to make significant contributions to the well-being of patients, payors, providers and the companies involved in healthcare delivery.  Ken Thomas, president of Taith Group and Research Affiliate of MEHD, will discuss the emerging future and what it can mean for supply chain professionals in hospital settings.

Biography

Ken Thomas
Ken Thomas is the President of Taith Group, LLC, a firm committed to helping clients achieve competitive advantage through the application of supply chain management and organizational change practices.  His previous career with Eli Lilly and Company spanned 29 years and included manufacturing and supply chain management leadership positions.  Ken is a nationally recognized thought-leader and speaker in supply chain management, and is involved in leading edge research with academia and commercial research organizations.  His current research involvement includes working with the consortium launched by the MIT Center for Transportation and Logistics, the MIT Efficient Healthcare Delivery Group, in the role of Research Affiliate.
