Department of Defense Pilot
Purpose/Goals:
- To educate participants and observers in the GDSN process – Visibility into and understanding of 1SYNC GDSN data and process requirements
- To create standardized, synchronized product data in the proof-of-principle pilot and demonstrate feasibility for use by the entire healthcare supply chain
- Test resulting manufacturer data loaded into 1SYNC via a group-purchasing organization or a distributor to a service provider
- Identify challenges to the implementation process and document lessons learned
- Promote the advancement of a PDU (Product Data Utility) to the public, healthcare industry, and media
Status:
- Basic, low-risk pilot in process
- Planning underway for incremental pilot expansion
