Description

As tariff pressures continue to evolve, rural communities, independent hospitals, and Critical Access Hospitals face unique challenges in maintaining supply chain resilience. While many organizations have yet to feel the full impact due to existing contracts, the effects are expected to emerge through 2026.

This session will explore proactive strategies to mitigate risk, optimize purchasing and prepare for future disruptions. Participants will gain insights and practical approaches to strengthen supply chain strategy in the face of growing tariff-related pressures and hear from a rural supply chain leader about how they are strategically planning for tariff-related cost increases.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Identify key areas of tariff exposure for rural and independent health care organizations.
  • Evaluate strategies such as utilization review, consolidation, and distributor analysis to mitigate financial impact.
  • Explore the value of establishing a Supplier Council to enhance collaboration, transparency, and proactive risk management.
  • Assess the implications of non-contract purchases and surcharges on budget planning.
