UDI and Data Standards

The Unique Device Identifier (UDI) is a common, worldwide system for product identification used to adequately identify devices through distribution and use. Data standards provide a method to codify in valid, meaningful, comprehensive, and actionable ways, information captured in the course of doing business with all stakeholders within the health care supply chain. Health care supply chain data standards are documented agreements on the representation, format, definition, structuring, tagging, transmission, manipulation, use, and management of data used between trading partners in the health care supply chain. Data standards enable electronic reporting, data transfer protocols, or other information that facilitates and promotes widespread use.

Discover how UDI will improve patient care, ensure traceability, streamline workflows and unlock actionable data that drives innovation and prepares your organization for future challenges and opportunities.
